Overview: EnterpriseCA provided consultancy services to a subsidiary of B/E Aerospace, a leading supplier of aircraft interiors. This was as a part of the company's worldwide roll out of their J.D. Edwards ERP system. Background: B/E Aerospace specialise in the manufacture and installation of Aircraft interiors for both new aircraft and the refurbishment of aircraft in service. The company have undertaken a worldwide overhaul of their IT systems, at the heart of which is the installation of J.D.Edwards World software ERP system, hosted on their central IBM AS/400 machine. Issues: EnterpriseCA were involved with the aircraft seating division. Our focus was to implement the J.D. Edwards system, to suit local operating requirements and to remain in line with a US based live corporate J.D. Edwards model. The main issue was the coordination of the corporate project team, local site employees and external suppliers of data conversion services to deliver the implementation as a team approach. The vital element was to minimise disruption to the thriving local production unit. Solution: EnterpriseCA's solution was to provide experienced J.D. Edwards implementation resource to deliver;
Technical Overview: The installed system covered the functions of Finance, Distribution, Manufacturing including MPS and MRP. In addition there were interfaces to and from systems interacting with J.D. Edwards. The delivered system was a multi plant ERP system using J.D. Edwards World A7.3 software running on a single database, on an offsite AS/400 machine. Benefits to Client: The project was completed within an elapsed time of very few months. This was achieved with minimal disruption to local operations and also coincided with a factory relocation of most of the plant and staff. A smooth go live was experienced with a minimum amount of go live support being required due to the company employees becoming rapidly self sufficient in their operation of the system.
